As well as satisfying the practical requirements of Venetian rowing, the fórcola is recognised as an objet d'art. Saverio Pastor's forcole are displayed in the most important museums in the world - for example, the Museum of Modern Art in New York - and they are universally appreciated for the beauty of their fluid, curving forms.
